Awaken Cafe is a casual contemporary cafe with a coastal vibe, perched on the Duranbah Beach headland at the southern tip of Coolangatta.
Look for the line-up of sunny yellow umbrellas on the footpath under the boutique apartment block, where Awaken Cafe sits adjacent to its sibling restaurant Pipi's (both of them are owned by Brisbane's renowned Gambaro Group).
Take a seat outside at the picnic style tables or inside where a bench with stools runs along the window and a banquette along one wall.
Food-wise, customers can make a selection from the daily baked pies and artisan pastries or freshly made salads and sandwiches from behind the counter, accompanied by well-brewed coffee, juices or smoothies.
Need to know - Take the scenic walking path from the beach below or, if coming by car, there is plenty of street parking nearby.
