Cooly Breeze Rooftop

Coolangatta

Cooly Breeze Rooftop is one of the Gold Coast's absolute hidden treasures - a glass-enclosed restaurant and bar perched on top of Coolangatta's Beachcomber International Resort, with sweeping views from the Tweed River to Surfers Paradise.

With a handful of tables on a balcony outside or inside the glass-enclosed dining room, Cooly Breeze Rooftop is the perfect place to enjoy a sunset cocktail or lunch or dinner whilst taking in the unrivalled vistas of Coolangatta Beach, Greenmount, Burleigh Heads and beyond.

The delectable Mediterranean-inspired menu, created by Executive chef Marcondes Almeida Neto (who hails from top restaurants in the UK and Europe) is made from locally sourced and produced ingredients.

Seafood is hero on the menu, starting with entrees such as bug on focaccia (Moreton Bay bug, avocado, finger lime, jalapeno & watermelon radish); grilled king prawns with creamy garlic or chilli garlic butter sauce; seared scallops da costa: and sauteed calamari with wild cherry tomato, chives, garlic, olive oil and white wine sauce.

There's also a selection of oysters (with finger lime & ginger; mango chilli mignonette; or baked oysters with bacon, grana padano & napoli sauce) while other options include cauliflower parmigiana; porcini arancini balls; beef tartare or bocconcini fritti.

Mains from the sea include octopus tentacles with sauteed potatoes, fresh herbs & capers dressing; grilled fish of the day with leek risotto & macadamia brown butter sauce; Moreton Bay bugs with sauteed asparagus, chilli, lemon buter sauce & saad; and. the ultimate seafood platter for two (2 Moreton Bay bugs, 2 scallops, 6 oysters, 4 grilled prawns, fried calamari, octopus, salad and chips).

There's also linguine with bugs and prawns or half WA lobster and scallops, whilst from the earth (vegetarain) there's a choice of vegan paella or homemade cavatelli al pomodoro (broccolini, confit tomato, zucchini, basil oil and Napoli sauce).

And for dessert, there's chocolate lava cake, house tiramisu, Spanish churros and pannacotta.

Even the bar at Cooly Breeze has stunning views of Tweed heads from the windows, with the drinks menu featuring a fantastic range of cocktails, wines from Australia, New Zealand France and Italy, 3 craft beers on tap, spirits and Mediterranean-flavoured liqueurs.

The house signature cocktails are a real treat, with some taking their names from nearby beaches - think Rainbow Martini, Kirra Colada, and Snapper Gin, along with LemonMelonCello and Caramilk Espresso, while classic cocktails include coconut martini or margarita, Ameretto Sour, Cosmopolitan, Negroni and Old Fashioned.
