Wu Kong Kitchen & Bar is a Monkey-King themed restaurant and bar, serving a sumptuous selection of Chinese cuisine in Southport's bustling Queen St Village.
Based on an essential chapter of the classic 16th-century Chinese novel “Journey to the West”, which tells the the story of the Monkey King encountering a raging fire on their pilgrimage to the West for the Buddhist scriptures, Wu Kong Kitchen & Bar takes diners on a firey journey through flaming mountains and flavoursome fare.
Enter the Monkey King's legendary cave and be treated to a range of Chinese and Taiwanese dishes like juicy pork Xiao Long Bao, deep fried cuttlefish dough sticks, truffle prawn dumplings, sweet & sour fish in squirrel shape, San Bei Chicken (wok tossed in the sesame oil until golden brown and finished with an intense flavour of rice wine, garlic cloves, ginger and Thai basil), and Eight Treasure Tofu (braised in a combination of prawn, chicken, BBQ pork, tofu puff and mixed vegetables).
Pair your food with a glass of wine, beer, spirit or a signature cocktail like the Flaming Mountain (white rum, chilli, ginger, lime juice, mint), Dragon Palace (tequila, Cointreau, kumquat Lemon, lime juice, honey, sea salt), or Demon Bull King (vodka, Crème De Cacao, coffee, sugar syrup).
