Kudo Bros Espresso Bar and Kitchen is a hidden gem of a Japanese cafe, tucked away in an industrial precinct in Robina and specialising in chicken karaage.

It's the first bricks and mortar venture from the owner of the popular karaage chicken rice bowl stall which for eight years has kept the hungry hordes happy at Miami Marketta.

The charming pocket-sized diner has seating for 18, all outside on a leafy covered terrace, and customers can also purchase take away.

Karaage chicken is a drawcard here and worth travelling for, with choices of Karaage or teriyaki chicken or chicken curry rice bowls or on its own, served as a side. There's also the option of vegetable tempura or vege curry rice bowls, which are equally delicious.

Another house specialty are onigiri (rice balls) with salmon, tuna salad, wakame or mentai mayo with cream cheese; as well as Japanese sandwiches (fried salmon. teriyaki chicken, fresh vege or dashimaki) or chicken burgers.

There's also soba or udon noodle dishes and salmon poke bowl and that's not all. Kudo also serves breakfast with a choice of classics - avo on toast or bacon & egg roll, or signature - the Kudo Bros acai bowl (amongst the best on the coast) or a typical Japanese 'zen' breakfast of fried salmon, poached eggs, pickled veges, rice and miso soup.

The drinks menu includes a selection of coffees (hot or iced), dirty chai; matcha, chai or black sesame latte; hot or iced chocolate; English breakfast tea; cold pressed juices; milk shakes and smoothies (including their signature acai or AMAZAKE).
